Told through a unique voice, gorgeous illustrations, and a message that teaches about sisterhood, compassion, and love.

Princess Ling has always known her big sister Princess Miao Shan to prefer spending her days meditating, with the forest creatures, or embarking on amazing adventures. All Miao Shan wishes for is to spread love and happiness to everyone in the land which conflicts with her father’s plans for her to marry. Ling helps her sister escape into the forest which brings the two onto a journey that allows them to learn what love and compassion really mean.

The story is a lovely retelling about the Buddhist hero Kuan Yin which is told through a unique voice, gorgeous illustrations, and a message that teaches about sisterhood, compassion, and love. The illustrations are vividly detailed and bring the beauty of the story to life. The story is about two sisters and their bond which is seen in their loving actions toward each other such as Ling helping her sister embark on her own path by being loyal, brave, and compassionate. Children’s books need more stories like Kuan Yin which tell amazing stories about sisterhood, compassion, and kindness in a tale brought to life through vividly created illustrations.
